Moonface Media Farm was started in January of 2001 as a freelance digital editing service. It has since grown to include DVD authoring, compression services, compositing and high definition videography.
Founder and director Michael Volkening began his video career in 1977 as the first employee in the first television studio of Consolidated Cable Television in Elgin IL. He produced, directed, shot and edited a wide variety of programming including live news and sporting events, telethons, music and corporate presentations. By 1985 he found himself in the front office, harnessed in a tie and managing studios in three districts, missing the creative process. So...
From 1985-95 he focused on post production as assistant editor at Centel Post (for about a year), and senior editor at Video Impressions in Aurora, IL. From 1995-2001 he was director of video services at MaxComm, Inc. in Dundee, IL., a business to business communications company.
In 2001 he decided to muster his years of experience and reputation and start his own business. Now it's all this.
A word about how we do business...
"Our goal is to provide a collaborative, creative and casual environment, be it here on the media farm or on location, where personal attention to detail, craftsmanship and open dialog with the client can produce an entertaining and efficient story of which we can both be proud, while never, ever using a sentence this long."
Michael Volkening, Director
